Botanist/Conservationist

Karin was born with a curiosity and fascination with nature which she has translated into her career. She has been involved with environmental work for nearly every type of federal and state agency, including state Departments of Transportation, USDA, National Park Service, USFS, US Fish & Wildlife Service, National Institute of Health, EPA, US Army COE, USAF, state Natural Heritage Programs, and numerous universities, engineering firms, land trusts, with a main focus in conservation work. When she stumbled upon lichens in college, she was blown away by them and has been fascinated ever since (including lichen studies for air quality, ecology, and human health; Plus recently having an entire genus named after her, named Karinomyces).
