Rachel Atchison graduated from the University of Florida in August 2020 with a Master of Science degree in Entomology and Nematology with a research focus on ant communities in longleaf pine forests. Prior to her graduate work on ants, she studied effects of prescribed fire in longleaf pine forests on birds and plant communities with Tall Timbers Research Station and Land Conservancy. She is currently studying the biology and integrated pest management of non-native ants with the USDA ARS in Gainesville, FL.
