Larry worked for the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) for over 28 years, the last 20 as Natural History Biologist for the Kansas City region. A native Kansas Citian, Larry devoted much of his career to identifying & working to protect & restore remnant natural communities on public lands in the urban area. These efforts led to the formation of the Kansas City WildLands organization which seeks to bring attention & resource management to these sites by engaging citizen volunteers. Since retiring from MDC Larry works part time for Habitat Architects, a local consulting firm that specializes in many aspects of natural resource management. He has killed countless bad plants & continues to today.
In his spare time Larry has long enjoyed floating Ozark streams & hunting & fishing. He has steadfastly rooted for the Chiefs & Royals through good times & bad.
