Long-Term Research to Support Prairie Conservation in a Changing World


John Blair is a grassland ecologist and University Distinguished Professor in the Division of Biology at Kansas-State University. He served as Lead PI of the Konza Prairie Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) program from 1999-2017 and is currently Director of the Konza Prairie Biological Station (KPBS), an internationally-recognized field station dedicated to grassland research, education, and conservation with a focus on tallgrass prairie. Blair's research focuses on how fire, grazing, and climate interact to affect ecosystem processes in grasslands and the ecological consequences of global changes. He has authored or co-authored more than 140 journal articles and book chapters and is an elected Fellow of the Ecological Society of America and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
