Clyde Sorenson

Clyde Sorenson is an Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology at NC State University. Sorenson’s research efforts have been concentrated in two areas:  1. The ecology and management of insects in annual crop agricultural production systems; and 2. The ecology of insects in longleaf pine ecosystems. Dr. Sorenson also teaches extensively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He received his B.S. in Wildlife Biology, and M.S. and Ph.D. in Entomology, all at NC State, and then served on the faculties of the University of Nevada-Reno and the University of Missouri-Columbia before returning to NCSU in 1996. Dr. Sorenson also writes about natural history for regional conservation publications.
