43rd Natural Areas Conference
Our 43rd conference was held at UC Davis in Davis, California, October 18-21, 2016, and the theme was Climate Change Adaptation and Natural Areas Management: Turning Words to Action. The history of this conference actually stretches back to before the Natural Areas Association was founded, and is a key part of who we are as an organization. Learn about our conferences, and get more details about this year’s conference at our Natural Areas Conference website.
Both days of plenary sessions were recorded, and video of each segment and speaker are available below on demand.
About the 2016 Natural Areas Conference
The theme, Climate Change Adaptation and Natural
Areas Management: Turning Words to Action, was chosen because climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing conservation professionals.
This was the biggest conference we’ve ever held, and was co-hosted by UC Davis and the U.S. Forest Service. Our 4-day event included two half-day plenary sessions, a full schedule of presentations, workshops and symposia, and field trips. We featured career sessions and programming for students and young professionals, as well as scholarship opportunities.
